Boarding is offered to dogs of ALL sizes and All breeds!

GENERAL BOARDING INFORMATION
Appleton Ridge Pet Care features fifteen runs to house dogs - nine single size runs and six double sized runs for extra large breeds, or families that wish to board two or more dogs together. Each run consists of three parts: and indoor bedding area, an indoor run and an outdoor run. Each bedding area is seperated from the others by a four foot block wall with chainlink on top. The block wall has several functions, such as preventing fence-fighting over items such as food or toys and keeping the more aggressive dogs from intimidating or injuring the shyer animals. Incidentally, it also keeps the dogs from barking at each other, since they can't make eye-contact. The indoor run is directly behind the bedding area and is always accessible to the pets. This area is seperated from the other runs by 10 inch block, with chain link on top. The dogs can see each other and socalize if they wish, with the solid block partition preventing any waste contaminating another run. The outdoor run is adjacent to this area and we allow the dogs unlimited access to it, weather and temperatures permitting.

HINTS AND TRICKS!
Over the years we've observed that some pets happily return time after time, while others display various stages of anxiety. We noticed that there seem to be common denominators in the seemingly unaffected pets and their owners. You can copy their tricks to achieve this goal: - Take care of any administrative necessities (proof of vaccination, contact information, etc.) before you drop off your pet. This minimizes lengthy, possibly stressful waiting times in the reception area. - Use a non-slip collar. Many dogs are overwhelmed by the sight of other dogs and will try to escape back to the security of your car. - No lengthy good-byes at drop-off time. Dogs are our "antennas". If you feel anxious or guilty, your dog will pick up on your feelings and body language and become anxious also. Some of the least affected pet's we see are simply handed over to us, while the owner (seemingly unconcerned) heads out the door. Your dog will pick up on THAT behavior too, and while it may seem impolite and callus to do, your dog operates by other standards. Feel free to drop off an article with your scent on it, such as a T-shirt you wore the night before. We will happily place it on your dog’s bed and they will feel comforted by your "presence".
